South Park Elementary opened in 1954 to relieve overcrowding of Fairdale area schools.  South Park closed as an elementary in 1978.  The building was used for eleven years as a storage facility for furniture, textbooks, and other materials.  In 1989 the building was renovated and became South Park TAPP (Teenage Parent Program).
