duPont Manual High School previously occupied Manly's building. The main part of the building was constructed in 1892. Manly Junior High was named for Henry B. Manly, former secretary-treasurer of the city board of education. When the Louisville Junior High School was displaced from Halleck Hall by Manual's move to that building, much of its student population was assigned to Manly. Manly was succeeded by Noe Middle School in 1974. The building was sold in 1980 to George Underhill and Associates. Part burned in 1991. The main building was converted into apartments.
