When Reuben Post Halleck Hall opened on Lee Street in 1934, it housed a new junior high school named Louisville Junior High School.  The Junior High School shared the building with the relocated Louisville Girls High School (LGHS).  The junior high school was informally known as "Halleck Hall Junior High."  duPont Manual moved to the Halleck Hall building in 1950 and became coeducational with its consolidation with Louisville Girls High School.  Louisville Junior High closed and most of its student population was assigned to the new Manly Junior High School, which opened in Manual's former school facility.
