The school was originally located on Main Street between Preston and Jackson streets in the facility also known as the Main Street School.  The school moved in 1891 to 615 E. Market Street. Hiram Roberts School succeeded the Normal School in the Market Street building.   The Normal School moved to East Broadway in 1916 to the existing Broadway School.  Teacher training and elementary education were both provided by the Louisville Normal School.  The Normal School was one of the schools also offering an Opportunity class.  Eastern Junior High succeeded the Normal school in the Broadway building.  In 1966 the building became the Elizabeth G. Breckinridge Elementary School.  Elizabeth Breckinridge was a longtime principal of the Louisville Normal School.  The building now houses Breckinridge Metropolitan High School.
