Kosmosdale School operated in a rented home in its early days. By 1904 it had its own frame one-room schoolhouse.  The school relocated to a new building on four acres, purchased from J. H. Bickel, on the west side of Dixie Highway in 1911. The previous building and lot were sold in 1911. In 1948 Kosmosdale's seventh and eighth grades were transferred to Valley High School.  After Kosmosdale closed in 1956, the facility became Watson Lane Elementary annex from 1958 to 1962.  In 1967 the property was sold to the Louisville Gas & Electric Company.
