This school was an elementary school in the Louisville city schools. Sources vary as to its opening date being 1910 or 1911. Board of Education reports from the 1910s reference a summer school and social or community center housed there.  The Louisville Normal School succeeded Broadway in this building.  Teacher training and elementary education were both provided.
