The school was located in Avoca in eastern Jefferson County and presumably educated white students. A new building was built in 1918 on one acre donated by Amil and Clementine Kamber. When Avoca closed, it was consolidated with O'Bannon School. The property was auctioned in 1928 to H. H. Glass.
