Official Name: Norton Commons Elementary School
Year Opened: 2016
A new elementary school opened in the 2016-2017 school year in the Norton Commons community in eastern Jefferson County. The school is named for its location in the planned community, which is named for the late George Norton, founder of WAVE-TV. He purchased the Norton Commons properties in 1938 for a farm.
