Year Opened: 1964

The original Young Street Elementary School was renamed in honor of U. S. President John F. Kennedy in 1964, following his assassination in 1963. The school's address formerly was 3807 Young Avenue. In 1996 Kennedy added Montessori to its name to highlight its instruction magnet program.
