Official Name: Hite Elementary School

Year Opened: 1963

Hite Elementary opened in 1963 and is located on the rear of the Eastern High School property. It was named for Jane Glass Hite who taught the sixth grade for thirty years at Middletown Elementary. Hite taught at other Jefferson County schools prior to joining the faculty at Middletown. Eight classrooms were added to the Hite school building in 1969.
