Official Name: Goldsmith Elementary School

Year Opened: 1955

In the planning stage, the school was named Goldsmith Lane Elementary School, but action of the board of education changed the name to simply Goldsmith just prior to its opening in 1955.  Both names, however, have been sometimes used during its history.  The school is adjacent to Seneca High School, which began as Goldsmith Lane Junior High School.  The site also houses Binet School.
