This school was created by the re-consolidation of five school districts in the Fairdale area:  Pine Grove, South Park, Berry, Mitchell Hill and Fairdale.   The bulletin identified Fairdale High's location as Coral Ridge, Kentucky.  This Fairdale High was closed in 1951 and was succeeded by the new Southern High School.  A new Fairdale High School was opened in 1958.  The site of the old school was the site of a Jefferson County police station in 1991.  A note in a 1932-33 bulletin stated the library contained more than 800 volumes and gave a few other details about the library.
