The Teenage Parent Program (TAPP) moved to the former Emerson Elementary School in 1975 from the downtown branch of the YWCA and became Emerson TAPP.   The school closed entirely in 1994.  The building was demolished in 1998.  In the later years of the Emerson TAPP school, another TAPP school opened as South Park TAPP.
