Dorsey moved to a new building in 1912 on an acre purchased from Edward Smith.  This site is south of U. S. 60 near the present day Moser Road.  Black children from St. Matthews were provided car fare to Rosedale Station to attend this school.  Dorsey was gradually closed in response to integration.  Grades 7-12 were integrated into other area schools in 1957.  The remainder of classes were also integrated and the school closed in 1961.
