Year Closed: 1959

Worthington apparently opened in the 1870s and at one time included education through high school.  A new school replaced the old in 1915.  The school suffered a fire in 1930 but the building was saved.  By 1950 the school offered six grades.  Grades seven and eight were then sent to the new Eastern High School, which opened in 1950.  Worthington was closed in 1959.
