This school was once in the Highland Park independent school district no. 46, as the community of Highland Park was once independent of Louisville.  Its address was also listed as "East Highland Boulevard and the railroad" and "the corner of Allmond (or Almond) Avenue and the L & N RR (railroad)."  Louisville annexed Highland Park in 1922 and the Louisville schools then assumed the administration of its schools.  The school appears to have closed when Lowell Elementary School was enlarged in 1932.  Researchers should also see the Lowell Elementary history folder.
