The Germantown school was originally a one-room schoolhouse on Mary Street.  A city directory gave the address as 130 Mary Street.  Later the address was 925 Mary Street.  A new building at 930 was erected in 1891.  The name of the Germantown School was changed to Isaac Shelby School in 1915.
