The Jeffersontown Special Education Center educated trainable and severely handicapped students.  The center was located in the former home of Jeffersontown Elementary after J-town moved to Cedarwood Way.  A new building was constructed on the site in 1977 for the special education center.  The special education center was renamed the Roberta B. Tully Special School in 1978.  In 1987 the school returned to elementary teaching as Tully Elementary School.
