The Jeffersontown School in District #2 was documented in 1906 as a two-room frame schoolhouse in good condition.  District 2 was placed into the third educational division of Jefferson County in 1908.  This school was condemned by the Jefferson County Board of Health in 1911 as overcrowded and unsanitary, along with another school at Middletown.  It was closed and succeeded by the school which has become the current Jeffersontown (J-town) Elementary.
