Worthington Colored was the last one-room, one-teacher school in Jefferson County.  Its address was also once listed as Brownsboro Road 1/4 mile beyond Worthington.  Worthington closed in 1958 with the integration of Jefferson County schools.  Its students were assigned to Wilder Elementary.  Following the closure of Worthington, the property was sold to Richard C. Watson.
