Main Street School's original address was 325 East Main Street near Preston.  The school relocated to Pearl Street in 1906 and was renamed Pearl Street Colored School that year.  The Main Street property was sold to Louisville and Jeffersonville Bridge Company.  Buildings in the area of the Pearl Street property were razed due to urban renewal and the construction of Interstate 65 in the 1960s and the street (Pearl) no longer exists.
