Jeffersontown Colored School operated in a one-room frame building according to a 1905 census.  It moved to a new building in 1912 and to another in 1929.  The school changed its name to Alexander-Ingram School in 1961 in honor of two educators, possibly principals.  It closed and merged with Jeffersontown (J-town) Elementary two years later to end segregated education in Jefferson County.   Jeffersontown Colored's school history folder is filed with the Alexander-Ingram history folder in the closed schools files under A.
