"Colored Schools": Lincoln Colored School

Year Opened: 1910

Year Closed: 1958

Lincoln succeeded Shelby Street Colored School.  When Lincoln closed, the property was leased to the city Department of Parks and Recreation until 1963.  Ahrens used the facility in 1964 while its building was under construction.  In 1966 the property was sold to the state of Kentucky and was later demolished.
