Pleasant Grove was once located in a Methodist Episcopal Church.  It relocated to new buildings in 1917 and in 1927.  The latter was placed on one acre purchased from Dred Ruffin.  In 1928, however, the school closed.  Following the closing of Pleasant Grove School, its students were transferred to Newburg Elementary and Jeffersontown School.  The property was auctioned to C. L. Cummins in 1929.  The building later became a residence.
