Archives Closed Schools N-P: Primary School (Green and Eleventh)

Last Address: Green and Eleventh Streets

Year Opened: 1840 circa

Year Closed: 1852 circa

Continued expansion of the new public school system in Louisville opened this primary school at Green and Eleventh streets.  The school may have been succeeded by the Tenth Ward School built at 13th and Green streets.   That school was one of several constructed and opened following the adoption of a new city charter in 1851.
