The W.E.B. DuBois Academy opened at its current site during the 2018-19 school year. Prior to that, it had been housed temporarily at Gheens Academy on Preston Highway. The DuBois Academy’s inaugural class consisted of 157 sixth-grade students, and in subsequent years, will grow to become a sixth- through eighth-grade school serving 450 students. Each student receives a personal device (Chrome Book or iPad).The DuBois Academy is open to all male students and offers an Afrocentric and multicultural curriculum.
