Official Name: Crosby Middle School

Year Opened: 1974

Crosby Middle is located in Douglass Hills in eastern Jefferson County. It was named for James F. Crosby, longtime principal of Middletown Elementary. Before its official opening, it housed displaced students when Dunn and Chenoweth elementaries were damaged in the 1974 tornado. Crosby opened in the fall of 1974 and seventh and eighth graders from Eastern High were transferred there.
