Archives Middle Schools: Jefferson County Traditional

Official Name: Jefferson County Traditional Middle School 

Year Opened: 1976

JCTMS was established with the development of traditional schools in the 1970's. In 1976, it opened in the west wing of Thomas Jefferson High School. The following year it moved to a wing of Male High School. In 1978 JCTMS moved again to a wing of Seneca High School. In 1981 the school received a permanent home in the old Woerner Junior High School building (the old Atherton High building) on Morton Avenue.
