Price Elementary, which opened in 1969, is named for Sarah Jacobs Price, former principal of Newburg Elementary School. Price, located in the Newburg neighborhood, was opened to relieve overcrowding at Rangeland Elementary. When the local schools were merged and desegregated in 1975, Price was paired with Hartstern Elementary. Price educated students in kindergarten and first and second grades. Hartstern provided classes for the third, fourth, and fifth grades. Price resumed teaching K-5 in 1981.
