In June, 2016, I had the honor of attending the Library of Congress Summer Teacher Institute in Washington, D.C.  My travel and expenses were funded through a fellowship with Fund for Teachers.  This was the best professional development I have participated in second only to my National Board Certification journey.  The educators at the Library of Congress are top-notch teachers and the strategies they utilized to teach about engaging with primary sources were thought provoking.  I am excited to return to my school library program and share the resources and strategies with students and teachers.  If you are a teacher interested in attending the Library of Congress Summer Teacher Institute, click the link in the box below.  If you are interested in creating your own professional development learning and need funding for travel, check out Fund for Teachers by clicking in the box below.  You can contact me at pam.coomer@jefferson.kyschools.us if you have questions or want more information about by fellowship.
