Arts Angle Vantage’s mission is to prepare youth from diverse backgrounds for success by providing access to the arts and empowering them to use their voices to create arts journalism that reaches a wider public. We provide this via after-school workshops throughout the year (including summer). We also are prepared to work with schools and teachers to create activities that fulfill our mission and meet educators' needs to strengthen students' writing skills.
GSA is a tuition-free three-week residential summer program for the state’s most promising young artists who are currently a sophomore or junior in high school. The summer program focuses on empowering students to unleash their creativity as means of bettering their communities, as well as carving out college/career pathways that lead to the most abundant version of each student’s future. Students who complete the summer program are eligible for scholarships at nearly 30 colleges/universities, gain access to various alumni-focused initiatives, and retain life-long mentorships and friendships.
Our mission is to enrich our community by presenting accessible, professional theatre experiences that educate, inspire, and entertain people of all ages. We bring performances, workshops, and residencies to schools, libraries, community centers, and more all over the Commonwealth and beyond that focus on Shakespeare, U.S. History, Kentucky History, Hip-Hop Shakespeare, Acting Fundamentals, Stage Combat, and so much more! We have offerings for Pre-K through 12th graders that are engaging, connected to curriculum, and best of all - fun!
The Louisville Academy of Music (LAM) provides an inclusive community that nurtures the growth and development of students, not solely as musicians, but as creative, inspired people. LAM provides residencies, performances, workshops, and instrument instruction and is working to help students of all ages throughout the Louisville community to express themselves through music.
Built in 1914, and now the oldest operating Mississippi River-style steamboat in the world, the Belle of Louisville is a prime example of the steamboat era in the U.S. She is a mixture of science, math, 19th-century technology, art, architecture, economics, transportation, and local, state, and national history. At the Speed Art Museum, we seek to inspire curiosity, build visual literacy, and foster a greater awareness of the world around us. To that end, we’re dedicated to creating innovative programming that allows visitors of all ages to see, create, and interact with art in new and unexpected ways. Drama by George uses the power of stories to address topics like bullying prevention, empathy, conflict resolution, achievement, and resilience. In other words, we're a Louisville educational theatre company that focuses on SEL (social emotional learning). We've impacted more than 88,000 students through touring school assemblies, after-school drama clubs, and classroom workshops since 2007. Jefferson Memorial Forest (JMF) offers hands-on programs that are interdisciplinary. On-site facilities and features include an Environmental Education Center, an outdoor Nature Explore Classroom, and Shannon’s Pond. In addition to programs offered onsite, our staff is available to visit school yards, local parks, and other natural areas throughout Louisville Metro. Additional experiential education programs offered include team-building and classroom community development programs, utilizing our Teams Course. These programs teach cooperation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and group cohesion for middle and high school students.
Are you looking for a fun-filled day of outdoor adventure?! Students will hike in our forest, ignite their imagination in our Nature Play Area, explore all their senses in our gardens and meet live animals. If you can't make the trip to us, we will come to you! Spark curiosity and learn about the diversity of Kentucky with one of our many outreach programs.
