JCPS Summer Backpack League

JCPS Backpack League is a free program led by JCPS educators for students entering grades 1 through 12.. Enjoy fun activities like coding, ThinkLaw, arts and crafts, and more! The program will be offered at a variety of JCPS schools and community sites. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation are provided. 

Dates: June 15 to July 15

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday

The virtual read aloud series offers opportunities to enjoy hearing a story read by a guest. Guest readers will include leaders from the KDE, Kentucky high school graduates, as well as authors.

Louisville Free Public Library

The Summer Reading adventure begins June 1st! Free to all youth, newborns through 12th graders. The Louisville Free Public Library's annual 10-week summer reading program encourages children and teens to read for fun over the summer and helps them avoid summer learning loss. You can register online or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app.

From May 9 through August 19 the Scholastic Summer Reading program offers kids an exciting, free, and safe summer reading experience, while helping to provide books to kids with limited or no access over the summer, keeping every child reading.

Ripple Effects

This contest sponsored by the Louisville Free Public Library invites all K-12 students in the Louisville area to capture images of what water means to them. What is the most beautiful aspect about water in our community? What water-related problems do we need to address? How do we use, recreate, and interact with water? Must be submitted by June 10th!
