Young Summer Reading Programs: Students

We challenge our young fans in grades K-12 to read with us this summer. If your child reads five books by July 31, you will get a code for a FREE KIDS TICKET to use during the regular season. Limit one free ticket per child and each free ticket must be accompanied by a paid adult ticket. 

To help increase reading time during the summer months, we send weekly emails with summer reading activities for your kids. Sign up for our summer emails!

Each week this summer, they are challenging you to read one of our favorite books and take a quiz on that book to test your knowledge. Each quiz you take enters you to win their Shelf Stuff VIP prize pack!

Ready any 4 books from their Summer Reading Adventure section in-stores or online and receive a free Dogman hat. Visit the website to download the Reading Adventure Notebook. 

The Louisville Free Public Library’s annual 10-week program engages children from birth through their teen years in the joy of reading and helps young readers avoid the Summer Slide!

​Download the Feed Your Brain reading log, record 300 minutes of reading onto your log, and return to any Half Price Books to claim your Bookworm Bucks.

​Record at least 8 books you have read and write your favorite part on their Summer Reading Journal and earn a free book!

​Record your reading for two weeks and return your calendar for 10 free play points or tokens as a reward. Calendar is also available in Spanish from their website.
